At Distinctive Homes Architecture we have been creating quality design animations for years. Being able to see one's home in a 3d model has been an instrumental tool in showing home owners what their dream home might look like. Plans drawn in two dimensions (which are used across the construction industry) aren't always the easiest for our clients to understand when they don't already have the knowledge on how to interpret them.
We've seen this come up multiple times where we go back and forth with the owner making critiques and changes only for them to finally see it in 3D where they finally have that "ah ha" moment of understanding. We hear all too often, "I didn't realize it would look like that!". When we do animations, we strive to do our best to showcase what the home could look like. We add art, furniture, pools, cars, plants, lighting, etc. to make the home feel more realistic, with the hopes that it will spark the clients’ imagination of living in their Distinctive Home. We utilize programs such as Twinmotion and Lumion that provide us with aerial footage of the surrounding landscape. This allows us to incorporate the landscape of the lot our clients are building their house on, within our animations. Our firm has recently had the opportunity to be a part of a new upcoming development in the Prescott area. This has encouraged us to look into what more we can do with the technology and has encouraged us to take a further look into what is really possible with these animation programs. Over the years the technology for animations has made incredible leaps. You can now find videos where these programs can make water ripple in the wind and trees sway with a gentle breeze. You can see rain drops on the window or a fire roaring in a fireplace.
The ability to include people who can move and interact with the environment, even the ability to walk through the home yourself in your own virtual reality. These types of changes have made an enormous impact on the industry. There was a time that if you didn't understand what the plans meant, you would have to fall back on the artistic drawings of your Architect and trust that it's what you envision. With technology improving everyday, we continue to stay knowledgeable and up to date with the latest in the industry. Soon, not only will you be able have a virtual tour of your home before construction is even started, but sounds, textures and sights, will fool the senses; thus, making it even more realistic than we have today. We are excited to offer animations as a tool for our clients to get a closer understanding of their homes and we will continually look to elevate our designs with new technology as it changes.
